"Young Piano Masters at Burg Namedy"Naoko Aburaki
Naoko Aburaki, a native of Tokyo, has been the recipient of prizes in numerous competitions including Le Note Sinfonie, Ischia International Piano Competition in Italy, International Young Pianist Competition in Germany, Osaka International Competition, and Chopin International Piano Competition in Asia.  She has performed in Asia and in Europe and has participated in Master Classes in Hamamatsu and Salzburg.  She has a particular affinity for the music of Chopin and Ravel.
Naoko studied with Dina Joffe at the Ribenstein Academy in Düsseldorf from 2011 – 2013.  Currently she is completing her Master´s Degree in Piano under the guidance of Prof. Nina Tichman at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln.

Yuliya Balabicheva
Yuliya Balabicheva was born in Kazachstan, Almaty into a family of musicians.  She studied both piano and organ at the music conservatory of her hometown. Yuliya is a laureate of many national and international competitions. She was a participant in the project “Rising Stars” in Almaty, 2002-2005. While she was pursuing her studies of Master's Degree, she decided to dedicate more of her time to chamber music, at the same time continuing to play solo concerts.
In addition to being an active performer, Yuliya also was the host of music programs presenting classical music on the radio station “Classic”.  In 2013 she decided to continue musical studies in Germany.  Currently she pursues a Master's Degree in the field of chamber music in the “Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln”, where she is in the classes of prof. Anthony Spiri and Prof. Nina Tichman.

Sona Barseghyan
Sona Barseghyan was born in Eriwan, Armenia. She has been highly praised for her impressive technique, beautiful sound and individual musical personality.  She was born into a musical family – her mother, Armine Grigoryan, is Armenia´s most prominent pianist.  Audiences throughout Europe have been fascinated by Sona´s charismatic stage presence, leading to invitations to perform in festivals in Kaunas, Dubai , Moskau, Rostow, Schlern and Malta.  She has been a prizewinner in numerous competitions, including those in Tbilisi, Rom und Cologne and has concertized in Russia, USA, Australia, Germany, Poland, Luxemburg, Belgium and Italy.
Sona is currently completing her Konzertexamen at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln.

Althea Chan
As the First Prize winner of the Richmond Sigma Alpha Iota Scholarship Competition in Richmond, Virginia, and a recipient of the Dean’s Talent Award at Oberlin Conservatory of Music, pianist Althea Chan has performed solo, chamber and vocal recitals throughout the U.S., in Europe, as well as in Hong Kong.  In 2012, Althea was invited to perform at the prestigious Xinghai Concert Hall in Guangzhou, China.
Born and raised in Hong Kong, Althea began her piano studies with her parents at the age of 6. She obtained her Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from Oberlin Conservatory of Music as student of Angela Cheng.   Althea has been invited to participate in festivals such as the Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival (Burlington, VT) and the Meadowmount School of Music (Westport, NY). 
She has recently founded the Trio Affekti in the unusual combination Piano-Violin-Saxaphone.
Althea is currently pursuing her Master´s Degree at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Köln. 

Yuhao Guo
Yuhao Guo, born in 1992 in Cologne, Germany, has had the rare distinction of winning First Prizes in the National Jugend Musiziert Competition as a soloist, in piano duet, piano trio and as a composer. In 2014 Yuhao won First Prize at the Karlrobert Kreiten Wettbewerb in Cologne. The intelligence and depth of his performances combined with his youthful verve and exhilarating temperament have made him the darling of audiences wherever he has appeared.  Yuhao has performed in major venues in Germany (Cologne Philharmonic Hall, Essen Philharmonic Hall, Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, Tonhalle Düsseldorf, Klavierfestival Ruhr), Poland and the United States, both in recital and with orchestra.  He is currently completing his Master´s degree at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Cologne.

Linda Guo
Linda Guo, born 1999 in Cologne, is an extraordinary double talent who is as accomplished on the violin as on the piano!  In 2005 she won First Prize and the Audience Prize at the "Münchener Klavierpodium der Jugend"., followed 2008 by First Prize in the  Konrad-Adenauer-Wettbewerb" in Cologne.  In addition she has achieved numerous First Prizes in the National Jugend Musiziert Competition.  In 2010 Linda won First Prize in the International Violin Competition in Namur/Belgien as well as the  Grand Prix in the "21. Concours Flame International pour jeunes violinistes" in Paris.  The following year she won First Prize at the same Competition for Piano.  Linda has already appeared in important concert halls such as the Kölner Philharmonie, the Düsseldorfer Tonhalle and Gasteig in Munich. Linda is a student at the PreCollegeCologne, where her teachers are Prof.Ute Hasenauer (Violin) and Prof. Nina Tichman (Piano).

Susanna Kadzhoyan
Susanna Kadzhoyan , born in Tashkent and educated in St. Petersburg, posseses intelligence, depth of feeling and a charismatic personality which make her performances unforgettable.   She has had success performing throughout the world and has won important prizes such as the Vila de Capdepera (Mallorca), Steinway Förderpreis (Düsseldorf), Karlrobert-Kreiten Preis (Cologne), and Georg Cziffra Prize (Vienna).
Susanna graduated from the St. Petersburg Conservatory in 2006 and then continued her studies with Anthony Spiri (Chamber Music) and Nina Tichman (Piano) at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln, where she completed her Konzertexamen 2014.  Susanna already has the great distinction of having been asked to teach chamber music at the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg.

Anna Karapetyan
Anna Karapetyan was born in Armenia and began playing the piano at the age of five. Her spontaneous musicality and freedom captivate her listeners and make each concert a unique experience. Anna is also an extremely experienced chamber music performer and has appeared in every conceivable ensemble from two-piano duo to quintets with winds and strings. She has been the recipient of grants from the Detmold Alumni-Verein and the Deutsche Akademische Austausch Dienst in recognition of her musical achievements.  Anna Karapetyan has appeared with orchestras such as the Wiesbadener Orchesterverein, the Detmolder Kammerorchester and the Bergische Symphoniker in concerts throughout Europe. During the Winter Semester 2013 she was acting Professor of Piano Accompaniment at the Hochschule für Musik in Detmold.  She received her Master´s Degree at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln in 2015 and is currently pursuing a Master´s Degree under the guidance of Prof. Anthony Spiri.

Shalva Khotenashvili
Born in 1989 in Tbilisi, Georgia Shalva Khotenashvili was introduced to the piano at the age of four, after persistently demanding his sister’s music teacher to teach him piano too. His extraordinary talent was recognized when he was very young and from the age of six he played concerts with symphonic orchestras in Tbilisi.  He has performed in Berlin and Rome and also participated in the Tbilisi Contemporary Music Festival in 2009.
Shalva was awarded the first prize in a competition organised by the ‘Foundation to Assist Young Georgian Musicians’ set up by the renowned pianist Elisabeth Leonskaya. He also won the 1st prize at the Tbilisi City competition for young performers in 2004.
Shalva has a Bachelor´s Degree from the Sarajishvili Tbilisi State Conservatory, where he studied with Prof. Nana Khubutia. Since 2014 he has been pursuing his Master´s Degree as a DAAD scholarship student at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne, Germany, under the supervision of Prof. Nina Tichman.

Seeun Kim
Seeun Kim was born in 1991 in Gwangmyeong, Korea, and started her piano studies when she was five. She graduated Sunhwa arts high school and received a Bachelor’s degree in piano performance from Ewha Womans University. In Korea, Ms. Kim won a number of korean national music competitions, including The Music Journal Competition, Seoul Philharmonic Competition, and many others. She has also given concerts, hosted by Ewha Womans University, as an audition winner. In addition, as a top graduate of the performance department, she performed the Chosun Daily Newspaper Debut concert. She is currently studying with Nina Tichman, and Claudio Martínez Mehner at Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Köln for her Master’s degree.

Beka Peradze
Beka Peradze was born in Tbilisi, Georgia, where he received his first music instruction.  He has won many prizes in his home country, and has been active in numerous musical projects dedicated to charity.  He has appeared with orchestra performing concertos by Bach, Beethoven and Rachmaninov.  In addition to his accomplishments as a pianist, Beka is a passionate advocate of the vocal music of his country and participates in both folk and sacred chorales.  Beka has participated in master classes given by such prominent  artists as Elisso Virsaladze Alexander Toradze and Pierre Laurent Aimard.  In July 2014 he won first prize at the Euregio Piano Award Competition.  Currently he is completing his Master´s Degree in Piano at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln.

Giorgi Sirbilashvili
Giorgi Sirbilashvili was born in Tbilisi, Georgia, where he received his first music instruction at the Central Music Gymnazia for Gifted Children. He has won many prizes in his home country, and has participated in numerous national and international festivals.  In addition to his activities as a soloist he is an avid chamber music player and is also extremely interested in contemporary music, having worked closely with many living composers.
Giorgi has participated with distinction in master classes given by such prominent  artists as Alexander Toradze and Boris Berman. In 2010 he participated in the “15th International Piano Masterclasses” in Portugal, where he was awarded Special Prize.  In 2014 he completed  his Master´s Degree in Piano at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln and is currently pursuing a Master´s Degree in Chamber Music.

Konstantin Zhyvagin
Born in 1990 in Novgorod, Russia Konstantin Zvyagin has an impressive list of credits.  He is First Prize Winner of the Crescendo International Music Competition, New York (Carnegie Hall), as well as Laureate of "Young Talents of Russia" and semi-finalist in the Schumann Competition in Zwickau.  He has been the recipient of numerous scholarships and has performed in Ireland, Poland, Germany, USA and Russia.
Konstantin has participated in master classes with Douglas Humpherys, Deirdre Doyle, Arcadi Zenziper, Igor Lebedev, Alexander Mndoyants.  He graduated from the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music in Moscow, where he studied in the class of Professor Tatiana Zelikman. Currently he is pursuing a Master´s Degree at the  Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln in the class of Prof. Nina Tichman.
