May 3rd – 5th 2020 XXIX. Andernacher Musiktage
Since 2016 I have had the great priviliege of being the artistic director of this wonderfully intimate chamber music festival. The magical atmosphere of Burg Namedy, the warm-hearted hospitality of Princess Heide von Hohenzollern, the support of the city of Andernach and its Cultural Department make this yearly event truly unique.
The motto for 2020:
„In the beautiful month of May– 30 year anniversary season Andernacher Musiktage“
A real reason to celebrate: the Andernacher Musiktage – begun by Prinz Godehard von Hohenzollern together with Sir Yehudi Menuhin – can look back on a wonderful 30 year history in 2020.
Looking back – but also forward – the program this year will feature highlights from the last 30 years, favorite pieces as well as works being presented at the Festival for the first time.
Of course, in the Beethoven Year 2020 works of the Master will be included - seldom heard works such as the Viola Quintet Opus 29 and the Horn Sonata Opus 17 as well as such beloved masterpieces as „An die ferne Geliebte“, performed by the great baritone Dietrich Henschel.
Celebrate with us! Enjoy a special weekend with exquisite music, inspiring atmosphere and the splendid hospitality of Prinzessin Heide von Hohenzollern at Burg Namedy. On Sunday, May 10th you can spend the entire day in the castle and the magnificent park, hear two concerts and enjoy surprises and refreshments.
